Why choose canvas?

Typically made out of cotton, the fibres in a canvas fabric are usually quite thick and are woven together tightly in a plain weave. This makes the fabric durable and sturdy, strong enough for makes such as bags, pencil cases, and cushion covers. With almost no stretch and drape, it can only be used for structured garments, such as anoraks or A line skirts (think the Dorothy Jacket or the Ava Skirt).

Please not that fabric is sold by the half metre. You can also order a small sample to ensure that the fabric is perfect for your make.
